The full-scale invasion of russia in February 2022 had a profound impact on various aspects of life in Ukraine, including healthcare and the fight against HIV and tuberculosis. The exploration of a new intervention in linkage HIV-infected patients in treatment, known as MARTAS, which was implemented by our Institute in Ukraine, has been recognized as having the lowest level of risk of bias. This conclusion comes from a recently published systematic review and meta-analysis of linkage to HIV care interventions in the United States, Canada, and Ukraine over an eleven-year period.
This month, UNAIDS has released the “HIV Response Sustainability Primer” which proposes a new approach to ensure the sustainability of the HIV response. This holistic approach includes programmatic, political, policy-related and financial aspects of the HIV response.
